Welcome!

HIghland Lakes Behavioral Medicine, PLLC
is a psychology clinic that specializes in neuropsychology and
behavioral medicine. Neuropsychology is a specialized area of psychology that focuses on how the brain and central
nervous system affect behavior and emotions. Many emotional problems are rooted in developmental, neurological, or
other physical problems. Neuropsychology is mostly a diagnostic testing approach to review various physical and
mental functions of an individual to identify underlying problems. Behavioral medicine is a treatment approach that
incorporates these types of findings.

Highland Lakes Behavioral Medicine, PLLC is the private practice for Dr. Greg Hupp. Dr. Hupp is a psychologist who
specializes in neuropsychology and behavioral medicine, although he also dabbles in traditional psychology.

The clinic is located in Marble Falls at the corner of FM 1431 and Ave E. This is about six blocks east of the
intersection of FM 1431 and Hwy 281. Avenue E is directly in front of the First Baptist Church.

What is "behavioral medicine?"
Behavioral Medicine is the interdisciplinary field concerned with the
development and integration of behavioral, emotional, psychological,
social, and medical knowledge and techniques relevant to the
understanding of health and illness, and the application of this knowledge
and these techniques to prevention, diagnosis, treatment and
rehabilitation.

"But I thought you were a psychologist..."
Since the field of behavioral medicine combines several techniques, there
is no one profession to identify behavioral medicine practitioners. At
Highland Lakes Behavioral Medicine, our director is a licensed psychologist
who specializes in the combination of behavior and emotional characteristics
as they relate to physical functioning. Since disturbances in behavior are
the first signs people recognize that "something may be wrong with me/my
child/my spouse...," a psychologist specially trained in medicine is perhaps
the best person to begin and coordinate a treatment plan. It is our
philosophy that if any part of the person breaks down, it will affect other
aspects of a person's life. That is why it is critical to have a doctor that is
experienced in several areas to evaluate a person's condition and collaborate with other professionals to develop a
well-rounded, effective treatment plan.

The Wheel of Life
Everyone operates on several levels at once. These levels interact to form a complete person and each level, although
different, requires that previous levels are working properly. It's like an inflatable tire in that, if one part of the tire loses
air, the wheel will not work properly. The behavioral medicine approach recognizes that we sometimes lose air in our
"wheel of life," and that the behavioral medicine practitioner helps to reinflate the tire and allow the wheel to work
smoothly. Let us help you repair your wheel!
